They were shocked when they received the news that Lucas had been chosen from more than 140,000 entries. Since then, 91 babies have been the face of the baby food brand. Warren posted a photo of Lucas sporting a polka dot bow tie and an open-mouthed grin on Instagram and tagged Gerber.

The victor of Gerber's annual photo search, which began in 2010, was revealed on NBC's "Today Show" on Wednesday morning. So far, Barker says there have been no confirmed orders for the proposal, but he says that he's had several "very interested" people call to find out more.

The 2018 Gerber baby meets all the usual criteria to be a winner-namely, being adorable and happy-but 1-year-old Lucas Warren stands out for another reason: He's the first child with Down syndrome to be selected as the "Gerber Spokesbaby".

Lucas' mom says she didn't think much about it when she entered him.

In a segment filmed in the family's north Georgia home, dad Jason described his wife's exuberant reaction upon getting the news in the mail that Lucas had won the contest. “We hope this opportunity sheds light on the special needs community and educates people that with acceptance and support, individuals with special needs have the potential to change the world – just like our Lucas!”. He is the first baby with Down syndrome to win since the contest's start in the 1920's. Winning the Gerber Baby contest means Lucas will get $50,000 in prize money, and will be featured on Gerber's social media channels and in ads throughout the year.
