Callum Smith predicts Groves will beat Eubank

His rivals George Groves and Chris Eubank Jr have stolen most of the headlines in this eight-man tournament, but it would be foolhardy to write Smith off as the potential victor.

Groves vs. Eubank Jr was braced by a pair of domestic title fights.

The pair eyeballed each other at Friday's weigh-in, with Eubank Jr throwing a few more verbal jabs at Groves, the title-holder, ahead of their World Boxing Super Series semi-final.

World Boxing Super Series super middleweight semi-finalist Callum Smith believes he will be facing George Groves in the final.

Eubank - the son of former two-weight world champion Chris Eubank - certainly appears to have inherited his father's granite chin as he stood up to clean shots from throughout against Groves, having been hindered by a cut eye caused in a third-round clash of heads.

In another bout of note, light heavyweight Sebastian Eubank, the younger brother of Chris Eubank Jr, was victorious in his pro debut, winning a 4-round decision over Polish slug Kamil Kulczyk.

The fight will be shown live on ITV Box Office for the price of £16.95.

"I told him he's not ready".

"He walked in with his shades on, he doesn't want to be here, he wants to get put into retirement so that's what we're going to do on Saturday night, I'm taking that belt home".

I've been here, done this so many times now.

"This is the biggest fight of my career", Eubank Jr said.

"I thought I pressured him the entire fight". I've got so much more to achieve in my career.

So when you hear Prince Naz say that Eubank needs to retire or fight him, know that "Prince" thinks he can win that fight. The better man won, but credit to Junior for getting through the match because I hurt him a lot.

Groves, the top seed, improved to 28-3 with his seventh straight win.
