Josh Allen WINS The NFL Combine With INSANE 70-Yard Bomb

Mayfield, UCLA's Josh Rosen, Wyoming's Josh Allen and Southern California's? "I don't know if they're going to have any of the (offensive) players meet with them".

Is Wyoming's Allen the next Carson Wentz? His three-cone drill time of 6.90 seconds trailed only South Florida's Quinton Flowers among quarterbacks.

The Giants have the No. 2 overall pick in this draft.

Each class of collegiate quarterbacks head to the combine with that very topic in mind.

While a state championship may be out of the question, top Quarterback prospect Josh Allen is giving us insight into someone who can "toss a pigskin a quarter mile".

As if that's not enough, the draft has a group of coveted quarterbacks that includes USC's Darnold, UCLA's Rosen, Wyoming's Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield, the Heisman Trophy victor from Oklahoma.

There was a clear gap between the tier of Rosen, Mayfield and Allen and the rest. The one dissenting opinion puts the USC star at number two.

Had Darnold left school a year ago, he would have likely been the consensus top pick.

Allen met with nine teams Friday night.

"My job is to try to get the Cleveland Browns better", Dorsey said. He gave that honor to Allen. Game and player highlights, news stories, team and player-related features, Fantasy football videos, NFL event coverage and more.

The group would send film of Allen's games in mass quantities to the email addresses of any college coaches they could find, but the quarterback's inbox would receive only crickets in return.

"Yeah, absolutely", he said.

"Just showing that I'm ready from Day 1 to be a franchise guy, " he said. Just for signing up, we'll send you a special offer for our draft guide.

Clearly a much different approach from Mayfield.

"What makes me the best option?"

Yet when he met with the media Friday, Allen was placed at the first podium - typically reserved for the top prospects - while Jackson, the 2016 Heisman Trophy victor, was a couple podiums over. It depends on who you ask.

While Ridley's easy athleticism was obvious in his initial acceleration out of his stance and fluid change of direction, he dropped several very catchable passes.

Another quarterback linked to the Cardinals in mock drafts was Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield.

"I like the UCF wide receiver credo, what they said, and they took pride in it, 'No block, no rock, '" Mayock said. Right at 11, a guy walked into our room and said "I know you guys have a QB and aren't going to interview me, but I wanted to talk to you anyway".

"I think that there's kind of a misconception with the whole thing", he said. There's a multitude of depth in one of the most important positions in football. Sure, you're throwing at the same time as your presumed peers, and ideally you would like to perform better than them. I've always been brutally honest and some people don't like that because it's rare now days. "I'm really here to just show my best and tell teams why I think that I'm a really good quarterback". But he intends to take a straightforward approach. Better fundamentals (and supporting casts) in the National Football League have allowed Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco to become quite successful after completing 59.9 and 63.2 percent of their passes at Boston College and DE, respectively. But Allen thinks he can duplicate the transition that Carson Wentz quickly made from North Dakota State to NFL MVP candidate for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Allen was told there are not many farms near the Giants' facility in East Rutherford, N.J. "Carson Wentz, Derek Carr for example". The transition from Year One to Year Two was exceptional for him.

Rosen and Jackson have chose to address these concerns by being authentic, and they're impressing teams with their honesty at the combine. Look out for LSU cornerback Donte Jackson's speed.

Darnold, who declared for the draft after a redshirt sophomore season when he passed for 4,143 yards and 26 TDs, cited leadership, instincts and command of an offense as his strengths. Both are considered exceptional athletes, even with the aforementioned perceived flaws.

Ultimately, those are decisions that will affect not only the teams looking for new field generals, but also those hoping that coveted prospects at other positions fall farther down the draft.
