Auto ramming attack kills two Israelis in West Bank

Two Israelis soldiers were killed and two others injured when a Palestinian rammed a auto into a group of troops in the occupied West Bank on Friday, the Israeli army said.

Two car-ramming attacks took place earlier this month in Acre, in northern Israel, killing a Border Police officer and wounding two soldiers.

On Friday afternoon, two people were murdered in a car-ramming attack in the West Bank.

The attack occurred on the 585 highway near the entrance to the West Bank settlement of Mevo Dotan some 10 kilometers southwest of Jenin.

The injured soldiers were airlifted to Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikva suffering from moderate to serious wounds, respectively. "Our hearts and the hearts of all of Israel are with the bereaved families".

Palestinians also see the city as their capital and Trump's recognition broke with decades of USA policy that the status of the city would be negotiated between the parties.

Gaza's rulers, the Islamic militant group Hamas, issued a statement praising the "operation" but did not take responsibility.

The Palestinians seek east Jerusalem as their future capital and view Trump's decision as siding with Israel on one of the conflict's thorniest issues.

According to AFP, since President Trump's declaration, more than 30 Palestinians and four Israelis have been killed in violence.

Around 400,000 Israelis live in West Bank settlements that are considered illegal by the United Nations.

Palestinians in the occupied territory have lived under Israeli military rule for more than half a century.
