IPL matches moved out of Chennai over security concerns

It was the flawless homecoming for Chennai Super Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018. KKR is one of the most popular and renowned team in IPL and also one of the founding member of the tournament.

After protesters had threatened matches at MA Chidambaram Stadium, IPL Commissioner Rajeev Shukla met Home Secretary on Tuesday and was assured of complete security cover for players and spectators.

Chennai Super Kings will lose their home advantage for the rest of the IPL.* The IPL has chose to move their six remaining home games out of the city in the wake of protests during the venue's first match and threats to disrupt more fixtures. The incident occurred when the eighth over was in progress with the Kolkata Knight Riders batting.v Pro-Tamil groups like Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) and a newly launched forum of Tamil directors had given a boycott call of the popular Indian Premier League.

With fingers crossed, we duly pray that Visakhapatnam gets to host a few IPL matches this year and the fans get treated to some exhilarating stuff yet again!

Lynn and Narine tried to make a good start for KKR but failed.

Nitish Rana made 16 before he was caught behind off the bowling of Shane Watson, while Robin Uthappa was on his way back to the pavilion the very next ball as he was run out by Suresh Raina for 29. The equation became much more easy as CSK needed 11 to win off six balls which they achieved with one ball remaining. Captain Karthik played a bit well with Russell where Russell led the team to a big total. Russel's mind-boggling hitting helped KKR plunder 113 runs in the last 10 overs including 37 runs in the last 14 balls. Watson took two wickets highest for CSK in the match.

Englishman Billings set up the innings nicely with a magnificent 56 off 23 balls that five huge sixes apart from a couple of boundaries. It was then that Dhoni, along with Sam Billings, resurrected the innings with a 54-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

The Final Over: While RanganathVinay Kumar had ball in hand and 17 runs to defend in the final over, at the other end was Dwayne Bravo to face just his second ball. Finally in 19.5 overs CSK reached the target and left the ground with victory.
