Google working on expiring emails for Gmail

TechCrunch in its story suggested that Self-destructing Email mode means sender can stop the recipient from downloading, forwarding, copying, or printing the email. However, unlike similar features in Proton Mail, self-destructing messages in Google don't simply delete themselves like you'd expect. "We need a bit more time to compose ourselves, so can't share anything yet-archive this for now, and we'll let you know when it's time to hit send", the company teased.

The revamp looks like it'll feature a new, clean design, smart replies, the ability to snooze emails and a new pane for the Calendar and Keep apps.

The new feature will likely be announced alongside Gmail's redesign for the web, which is expected to take place during Google's upcoming I/O developers conference starting May 8.

The password-protecting of email is something that will be welcomed by many users, and it is going to be implemented through the use of a code sent out via SMS. However, the feature is still under development, as the option "Learn More" now redirects to a blank page. The recipient had to log into their Google account once again to view the content. The recipient will not be able to take a print out of this email or can not copy/paste the content as well.

There has been no official announcement regarding the launch of this feature to the users in their entirety.

The five features for the new Gmail have limited explanation in the email, and even less was said by the company.

For those of us who can't deal with the onslaught of messages in our inbox but really need to do not forget to reply to a certain message, Google should be offering some help in the form of a snooze button.

Just as most smartphone cameras now allow users to focus on a single object among many, it may soon be possible to pick out individual voices in a crowd by suppressing all other sounds, thanks to a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) system developed by Google researchers.

Moreover, Gmail will also allow you to set a deadline for certain emails, which, when reached, will trigger the automatic complete deletion of the chosen emails. On the other side, the confidentiality of mail content will be protected by a link, which only will be revealed after identity verification. Enter your email to be subscribed to our newsletter.
