Jeffrey Tambor confirmed for Arrested Development season 5

Jeffrey Tambor is officially returning for the upcoming fifth season of Arrested Development. While Amazon found cause to remove Tambor from that show, Netflix found no evidence of any wrong doing, and there were no complaints from anyone about Tambor on the set of "Arrested".

Tambor's confirmed appearance in Arrested Development Season 5 comes after news of his departure from Transparent.

Netflix has junked several projects to other embattled stars like Kevin Spacey, and ordered a complete re-write of House of Cards, so the decision to stick by Tambor has raised eyebrows among fans. Tambor has denied all wrongdoing. And in fact, we're also getting a "new" Season 4 - one that is being remixed to intertwine the stories of the characters like the first three seasons did, instead of the Rashomon-style of each episode focus on a single character (the remixed Season 4 is available on Netflix starting today).

"I am profoundly disappointed in Amazon's handling of these false accusations against me", Tambor said in a statement.

Creator Jill Solway said: "I have great respect and admiration for Van Barnes and Trace Lysette, whose courage in speaking out about their experience on Transparent is an example of the leadership this moment in our culture requires".

Alia Shawkat however was more reserved in her praise, and said it was "sad" to hear about the situation, referring to Tambor's accusers as "victims" who need "to be heard just as much". "I am deeply sorry if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being sexually aggressive or if I ever offended or hurt anyone". I also deeply regret that this ground-breaking show, which changed so many lives, is now in jeopardy.

The cast of "Arrested Development" has voiced their support of their co-star, with David Cross telling a local NY newspaper, "I can't speak for everybody, but I know there are a number of us who stand behind him".

Netflix made the decision on December 5 to continue the political drama "House of Cards" into its final season without actor Kevin Spacey, putting Robin Wright in the leading role instead.
