Neymar aims to regain fitness by World Cup but PSG future unclear

Neymar has endured a turbulent year at PSG and Unai Emery's exit at the end of the season will not alter his desire to leave.

The latest media reports say the Brazilian now wants to move to Real Madrid, who tried to sign him in 2013 before he opted to join Barcelona from Santos.

Speaking on the YouTube channel of Brazil legend Zico, Neymar said he will work hard to get rid of the fear so as to be able to inspire his teammates to victory at the global championship.

This saga will likely only intensify during the World Cup, especially if Neymar can return from his foot injury and star for Brazil.

The 26-year-old winger has not featured for either Brazil or PSG since he broke his toe in his side's 3-0 victory over Marseille in a cup game back in February.

But Neymar is already being linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions with Real Madrid reportedly interested while former team-mate Andres Iniesta said it would be "weird" if he returned to Barcelona. So good players can always play together.

"At the moment, all I can tell you is I'm anxious about what's coming up", said Zidane. "But I can't talk about anything like that [Neymar] at the moment", Zidane told reporters.

Zinedine Zidane said at a news conference on Friday he believes Neymar could be "compatible" with Madrid's star man Cristiano Ronaldo. I remember one year they said I wasn't compatible to play with Djorkaeff. On the pitch there is a chemistry. We have to finish this season, the rest will come after.

Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar will return to training this weekend, while the forward has admitted he was afraid he might suffer a relapse of his metatarsal injury during his rehabilitation.
