The rest of the global community will work around the United States, and the United States will have declining influence.

In response, the foreign ministers of France, Britain and Germany will meet with Iranian representatives next Monday "to consider the entire situation", France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told RTL radio. You can ask them to pressure the White House to stick with the deal - and, short of that, to refrain from imposing sanctions or taking other actions that would make it hard for remaining signatories to reach an agreement with Iran. He added that the United States "will be instituting the highest level of economic sanction".

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has said Britain will not "walk away" from the Iran nuclear deal following the dramatic withdrawal of the United States from the agreement.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a thinly veiled rebuke to the Trump administration and Israel over their opposition to the Iran nuclear deal, setting the stage for a divisive G7 summit next month. Trump has no capability to forge a coalition of allies, let alone get Russian Federation and China to be real partners in enforcing Iranian isolation.

"If the regime continues its nuclear aspirations, it will have bigger problems than it has ever had before", he warned.

Trump spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese leader Xi Jinping about his decision Tuesday.

But European support could be tested if Trump follows through with retaliatory sanctions on economic interests in Iran, according to a Berlin based foreign policy expert.

Europe did $25 billion of trade with Iran past year, more than 10 times the United States figure, and Iran has hinted that it could still be interested if the benefits are great enough.

Remember, in March the US participated in a joint military exercise in Israel to play out a scenario of an Iranian attack.

But Bolton said that cooperation with Europe on Iran was not over.

Iran would also have perfected its ballistic missile technology at that point, providing a vehicle for the deployment of the nuclear bomb.

Why should the United States have stayed in the Iran deal?

Mr Trump also threatened that countries which continued to trade with Iran and helped it on its quest to attain nuclear weapons would be "strongly sanctioned".

"The European Union is determined to preserve it", she added.

The U.S. will be worse off from leaving the Iran deal.

Major companies in the USA and Europe could be hurt, too. Either Iran will succeed in exploiting a wedge between the US and its allies created by Trump, leaving Washington isolated and unable to lead a coalition to address other Iranian provocations, or Iran will return to an unconstrained, uninspected nuclear program. "Trump, you couldn't lift a finger if you tried, '" Khamenei said.

"But for Canada's objective, we make our decisions around foreign policy here in Ottawa, not in Washington, not elsewhere".
