Koreas to hold fresh meeting on carrying out summit vows

A North Korean mouthpiece in Japan on Monday demanded the return of a group of North Korean women who defected from a restaurant in China in 2016.

An incremental North Korean approach to denuclearisation at a June 12 summit with President Donald Trump will not be acceptable to the USA president or the people of South Korea, South Korea's special national security adviser said on Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News reports, the Max Thunder drills being carried out by South Korea and the USA were a rehearsal for an invasion of North Korea, which the North deemed a "provocation".

North Korea's Korean Central News Agency said ongoing drills between the South Korean and USA air forces are an "intentional military provocation" to undermine recent diplomatic talks, according to Yonhap News Agency in South Korea.

Kim arrived in South Korea in 2011 but has been asking the government here to send her back to the North, claiming that she was duped by a broker. North Korea is desperately in need of energy ... for their people.

"The United States will also have to undertake careful deliberations about the fate of the planned North Korea-U.S. summit in light of this provocative military ruckus jointly conducted with the South Korean authorities", North Korea said.

"The returnees have been reunited with their families".

White House national security adviser John Bolton said on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday that North Korea's future could be "unbelievably strong" if it follows through on its commitment to denuclearize. One of those skeptics is Thae Yong-ho, North Korea's former deputy ambassador to the United Kingdom, who defected to South Korea with his family in 2016. "He does follow the Western press".
