It is not time to talk about transfers.

But despite an impressive debut season in France, speculation has been rife that Neymar could be set to move on again.

Neymar's former teammate Messi, in an interview with Argentine TV channel TyC Sports, said, "It would be bad, because of everything he means to Barcelona".

"I'm not tempted to leave Barca, there is nowhere better than Barca, if I wasn't here I wouldn't be anywhere", Messi, who been at the club since he was 13, told TyC Sport. He won the Champions League and La Liga. "But to end in Real Madrid would be a hard blow for us and for Barcelona fans".

"Besides, it would make Madrid stronger than they are".

Neymar has scored 28 goals and made 19 assists across all competitions this term.

Five-times Ballon d'Or victor Ronaldo sustained a "slight ankle sprain" after 17 minutes against Barcelona - moments after he levelled the scores at 1-1 - following a collision with Barca defender Gerard Pique and was replaced at the break.

A combination of factors have seen him fleetingly linked with Premier League champions Manchester City over recent years - namely the necessary financial means, the presence of his old mentor Pep Guardiola and the prospect of linking up with long-time friend and worldwide colleague Sergio Aguero in attack.

"Cristiano Ronaldo and Dani Carvajal trained alongside their teammates, which meant that Zinedine Zidane had a full squad available to him", Real Madrid said on their website.

Before that, though, Messi will have to watch on as another rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, tries to win the Champions League for a third year in a row with Real Madrid. "They're one of the teams that could win the World Cup", Messi concluded.

He has been highly praised this season for his talismanic performances for Liverpool, guiding them to a top four spot and a Champions League final. "It's a weight that we carry and we want to overcome it", he said.
