Liverpool and Real Madrid teams 'leaked' ahead of Champions League final

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has admitted he may have to adapt his laid-back style to suit the level of the occasion ahead of the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Marc Mayo: If this game is to unfold as the "you score five, we score six" affair that seems nearly inevitable, Madrid will need every bit of firepower they possess out on the pitch. They've never been so calm and confident in the club before a final than now. I knew him, of course; I knew his skills, and tried to anticipate all of his movements. If Madrid can keep the ball, Jurgen Klopp is the one who suffers and it is time to place trust in the genius that Benzema still holds.

He has come out in the media and suggested he is excited about the prospect of playing against one of the best players of all-time in this Champions League final and that is the right attitude to have.

Klopp has the chance to become only the fourth manager in the club's long history to win a European Cup, following in the hallowed footsteps of Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Rafael Benitez.

After a day of programming including a recap of the journey to the final, a look back at Liverpool's previous European victories, and a special edition of our preview show, live build-up from Kiev will get under way on the channel from 5.45pm BST. "Nobody expected us to be here but we are here because we are Liverpool".

Meanwhile, Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane tempered expectations. As I said to my team-mates, "We all play in the same and competition and we need to be one". Ronaldo continued to reign supreme in Europe's top club competition, however, and goes into Saturday's final with 15 goals in 12 games this season. The thing is, before that we played Dortmund and Leverkusen, and Dortmund were champions at the time.

"I am excited to see Naby Keita join the club this summer and I can only promise our supporters that we will continue to improve the squad", Werner said.

The two have taken different paths in the game, having come from very different backgrounds.

"From a neutral's point of view I'm really looking forward to it", he said. Because we have the games we had in the Champions League, the most exceptional run to the final, the most goals, I can not believe that it is true... but it's us.

Salah has been the star turn of Liverpool's season, scoring 44 goals in his debut season at Anfield to plunder a series of individual Player of the Year awards.
