Blizzard is working on a new Diablo project

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed in a job listing that it's beavering away on a new Diablo project.

It appears that Blizzard is now working on a new unannounced Diablo project. There's no mention of a title to be found, though it does sound like this game could be more than just an expansion for Diablo 3.

While details of what the project exactly is are vague, most of the listings say that "the minions of Hell are growing stronger...", and explicitly state that Blizzard is "working on a new, unannounced Diablo project".

The Irvine, California-based studio (which also made Overwatch and Hearthstone) is looking to hire a creative director, an executive producer, and various specialized artists (including a dungeon artists) for an upcoming Diablo game.

Multiple job listings on Blizzard's careers site have fuelled speculation that the company is working on a new Diablo game. "Come work with us, and together we will build something exceptional", the description reads. This job ad could simply be for that project, since it qualifies as an "unannounced Diablo project".

Is it Diablo IV? In either case, we may not hear about whatever game this is for a while, given how long Blizzard typically takes to develop games. "That includes Diablo, which is one of our core franchises".

Former Diablo designer David Brevik once said that he believed a Diablo II remake wouldn't be easy to pull off given that the technology Diablo II is based on requires more than a new coat of paint and that numerous game's original assets are likely lost. Survival? Let us know!
