Cristiano Ronaldo's wish to leave Real Madrid is 'irreversible'

Real Madrid vice-captain Marcelo says he sees no reason why Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar can not play together for the club, while acknowledging that president Florentino Perez has the final say on everything that happens at the Bernabeu.

"Cristiano doesn't own Real Madrid so if the president wants to sign somebody he will do it".

The reigning Ballon d'Or victor claimed he will be talking about his future in the days to come, but is yet to reaffirm the club's fans that he is staying in Spain for another year. I guess someday Neymar will play in Real Madrid.

"Madrid always have to find the best players and I think Neymar will play for Real Madrid one day". We all want Ronaldo to stay and Neymar has our doors wide open.

Neymar hit 28 goals in an injury-hit 2017-18 campaign for Ligue 1 title winners PSG, while Ronaldo plundered 44 for Madrid as they swept to a third successive Champions League crown.

"I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago about his goals and stuff, and he said to me "it should have been a lot more".

Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Inter and Roma are just some of the sides who could potentially benefit from Ronaldo's exit after nine trophy-laden years in Spain.

"To me, Ronaldo is the world's greatest right now and I have no doubt in my mind that Neymar will be just as good".

After the Champions League final victory over Liverpool, there was a lot of speculation over Ronaldo's future at the Santiago Bernabeu when the Portuguese winger put his position at the club in jeopardy.

"I don't know why Cristiano made these comments, but sometimes you should count to ten first only you don't", Figo said.

Algeria on the other hand will be playing for pride and to put forth a good showing after missing out on the World Cup, failing to win a game in the group stage but being awarded a default win over Nigeria due to an ineligibility issue.
