Eleven family members found dead in Delhi home

Eleven members of a family were found dead under mysterious circumstances in north Delhi's Burari on Sunday morning, police said.

While 10 of the 11 bodies were found hanging, blindfolded and gagged, that of 75-year-old woman's was found lying on the floor. Police suspected that all of them committed suicide.


The police are not certain if the deaths were a result of suicide or murder. The bodies were sent for an autopsy.

The neighbor said he spoke to one of the victims Saturday night and found no sign of any stress, the report said. They have been living in the area for the last two decades. The family ran a provisional store on the ground floor of their house and were in furnishing business, reported Mirror Now.


Indian TV channels broadcast interviews with neighbours who said the family did not have any discord among themselves.

Police are questioning neighbours and scanning CCTV footage in the area for leads. The central range Joint Commissioner of Police told media that pollice is investigating from every possible angle and trying to collect and examine evidences.
