Suarez tells Griezmann: You don't know what it's like to feel Uruguayan

In other words, it won't be Suarez vs. Ronaldo when Uruguay and Portugal meet in the World Cup round of 16 on Saturday night, it'll be team against team.

Uruguay has gone deep into the World Cup before, even with some of the same players, yet after four straight wins, it's clear there is something more to the group that Oscar Tabarez has brought to Russian Federation.

The European champions will face Uruguay in Sochi for a place in the quarter-finals after finishing as runners-up behind Spain in Group B.

"A scan was performed on the player Edinson Cavani confirming swelling but no muscle tear", read the statement from the Uruguayan Football Association.

Cavani has scored 45 goals for Uruguay, 12 of which have been assisted by Suarez. Among these records is Ronaldo becoming the first player to score in eight consecutive major internationals tournaments after he won and converted a fourth-minute penalty against Spain on June 15.

The Frenchman has said he's an admirer of Uruguay forward Edinson Cavani, according to media reports. The Manchester City star and Juventus duo Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain started on the bench and could well have had a result-changing impact had they featured more prominently.

Christiano Ronaldo in the last match of FIFA World Cup against Uruguay not only lost the chance to get into the quarter-finals but also the dream of the possibility of winning the last World Cup. "Uruguay have shown we depend on collective work on the pitch".

"He will have his habits and his way of speaking Uruguayan, but we feel it in another way".

"Happy for what happened today, I hope we can go further", Cavani said.

We could have witnessed the changing of the guard in Argentina's 4-3 loss to France. "But we have a very strong team in terms of the mindset and we will always bank on the collective against any rival". "You need to really concentrate to make sure he is not successful against you, but that is very hard".

"At this stage we still believe we have room for improvement", Alves said.

"We are here to play all seven matches, right up until the final, and we will see what happens", he said.
