Chinatown Market Trolls the NBA After LeBron Signs With Lakers

"Anybody would enjoy playing with my boy, it's always been like that".

As far as narratives go, few could have been more tantalizing.

The chance to play for one of America's most storied franchises is a new challenge for James, who prides himself on knowing the game's history. James has signed a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers are going to make the playoffs this year and show the world that they are a force but in the next year, they will be in a position to edge out Houston and push past the Warriors. Leonard only has one year left on his current deal, but the Spurs aren't about to let that get in the way of them wanting as much as possible in return. This is especially true considering that James agreed to a multi-year deal, which is something he was not willing to do with Dan Gilbert and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Magic Johnson said he would step down if he couldn't land any elite free agents for the Lakers during the next 2 summers. "At least he didn't wait until the end like last time".

On Tuesday, Yahoo Sports NBA insider Shams Charania appeared on "The Herd" and suggested Leonard was now considering his options.

This new strategy likely will require LeBron to alter his game, as well, allowing Rondo and rookie Lonzo Ball to do a bit more ball-handling. He goes on to predict some "championships for the Lakers", claiming that LeBron's four year window gives them room to go four in a row. As for calling Jordan the greatest, Ball said, "Right now you've got to say Michael, until LeBron wins somewhere else, which is at the Lakers". Paul George and Kevin Durant are both staying put with their respective teams.

However, the two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP reportedly privately suggested the prospect was not as alluring as some might think. On Sunday, July 1, 2018, James announced he would be joining Ball and the Lakers to try and dethrone the Golden State Warriors and grow his own legacy. In turn, such a trade could potentially be sweet revenge for James, who is among the many basketball luminaries to have clapped back at Ball for some of his edgy pronouncements. Which means they now have five players from last year's NBA All-Star Game on the same team that won last year's championship, and the one.
