George Clooney involved in scooter accident in Italy

George Clooney has been released from an Italian hospital after being involved in a motor accident Tuesday.

"He is recovering at his home and will be fine", Clooney spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email.

Clooney was actually thrown from his motorbike scooter when he was hit by a vehicle, according to BBC, as he was leaving his hotel in Costa Corallina. While it's possible that these details are rather exaggerated, considering TMZ's history of treating rumors as facts, there have been enough reports to verify that Clooney's accident was quite serious.

Amal Clooney reportedly rushed to his side while he was at the hospital.

AGI reported that Clooney was discharged from hospital later in the morning and advised to rest for a few days.

There was also some notable damage to the car's bumper, and every picture shows the bike lying on its side.

Actor and director George Clooney was injured in a motorcycle accident in Italy. Staff at the home declined to comment.
