Amazon India prepares for its most anticipated event yet

Prime Day is set to officially start on July 16 and will run through July 17, but Amazon has kicked off a five-day campaign in an effort to position the summertime shopping event as one that rivals Black Friday.

It's also offering discounts to Prime members who shop at Whole Foods, which Amazon acquired for more than $13 billion a year ago.

The free games for Prime members in July include Tacoma, Brutal Legend, Hue, and a whole lot more rolling out each day between now and Prime Day.

A selection of RAVPower wireless chargers for iPhone and other smartphones are on sale today for up to 52% off as an Amazon Prime Deal of the Day. Plus, Amazon has been raining random early Prime Day discounts on Prime members since July 3.Now, dont freak out if youve missed the buzz until now.

"We were humbled by the fantastic response to our first Prime Day previous year and are delighted to bring it back for Prime members in India", said SVP & Country Manager, Amazon India, Amit Agarwal.

Amazon has a new live show that's similar to Home Shopping Network and QVC, so expect to see some deals pop up on the show!

There are Prime exclusive deals dropping every day in the lead up to next Monday. The company added that last year, Amazon customers purchased "more pencils, pens, notebooks, glue sticks, lunchboxes and backpacks on Prime Day than any other day of the year".

Amazon Prime members get more than just free games from Twitch. Both retailers are emphasizing that there's "no membership required" to take part in these sales. Also, the users who will be making the payment with Amazon wallet will also get a 10% cashback on the deals. Amazon will have them all listed on the deal of the day page, but typically, experts say the best deals have been in these categories: Toys, some tech, TVs and Amazon's own family of products - the Alexa, Echo, and Kindle were up to half off a year ago.

When you cancel a paid Prime membership you may automatically receive a refund. In one, mountain biker Micayla Gatto navigates a series of jumps as text reads, "When you wanna go big, get the best price".

The standard way to dump Prime is to hover over your account name in the upper-right corner of any Amazon page, and then select Your Prime Membership from the drop-down menu.
