World Cup winners, Antoine Griezmann and Raphael Varane, join worldwide team-mate Mbappe on the list, and Golden Boot victor Harry Kane is also included.

The day has arrived and on Tuesday, FIFA will reveal their shortlist of ten names who are in the running to win The Best award, which until now has only ever been won by Cristiano Ronaldo.

In a move that could see Messi team up with compatriot Mauro Icardi (a partnership that would undoubtedly become one of the most deadly in Europe), Tronchetti Provera claims that once the club's Financial Fair Play troubles are cleared, he'd like to see Inter move for the 31-year-old.

France also has Antoine Griezmann and Raphael Varane, who won a third straight Champions League title alongside Modric and Ronaldo with Real Madrid, on the list.

It is completed by World Cup golden boot victor Harry Kane of England and Mohamed Salah, the Egypt forward who was inspirational in Liverpool's run to the Champions League final.

Belgian duo Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne have also made the cut after an impressive World Cup and in De Bruyne's case, a quite incredible league campaign with Manchester City. Guardiola won the 2011 award when coaching Barcelona.

France coach Didier Deschamps and former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane head the nominees for the men's coach of the year award.

The three finalists for each award will be revealed at a later date, with the winners to be announced in a ceremony in London on September 24.

Four women and six men are part of the 10-candidate list for the women's coach of the year award.
