Manchester United to rival Arsenal for Croatian forward

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly set his sights on signing Toni Kroos from Real Madrid after accepting that Gareth Bale won't be leaving the European champions.

Which players are Manchester United most likely to sell and sign this summer, according to 888sport?

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is willing to let Darmian depart Old Trafford this summer and the Italy worldwide has been linked with several clubs.

Reports in the Spanish media have linked Pogba with a return to Juventus, claiming he's keen to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin, but United insist the midfielder is going nowhere.

The defender has not linked up with the Manchester United squad in Los Angeles due to an unspecified injury presumably sustained over the World Cup.

However, Mourinho finds himself short of options on the right side of defence following an injury to United skipper Antonio Valencia in the pre-season friendly against San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho tells ESPN FC that the World Cup was the flawless habitat for Paul Pogba as he could 'only think about football'.

"When I look to Brighton, I don't think they have any player that isn't doing a very good preseason with lots of training and matches". So against Leicester and Brighton the situation is not awesome for us.

"He is a top player, but we are not interested in him".

"I think the World Cup is the flawless habitat for a player like him to give [their] best".

"I think a team that is working for six weeks minimum, with only one central defender and one striker missing, it is clear how much better the situation is for them".

While Mourinho was subject to severe criticism after splashing £147m (R2.5b) on new arrivals but ending the season trophyless with a rigid style of football.
