MTV announces 'The Hills' reboot at 2018 VMAs

The rest is NOT unwritten! announced Monday during the Video Music Awards that it would be rebooting The Hills almost a decade after the iconic reality series ended.

Get your metro card ready because the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards are returning to Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

"You know I grew up on MTV, and this is really like a tremendous honor for me", Lopez began. "Love live the queen".

"Find yourself someone who will look at you the way A-Rod looks at J-Lo", one fan wrote on Twitter. Maluma, the Colombian singer who was nominated twice in the best Latin category, did have an exciting performance as he danced onstage with gyrating dancers.

In anticipation of her show-stopping performance, J.Lo arrived on the red carpet with her longtime beau Alex Rodriquez. Lo fans were no doubt delighted when Ja Rule made a surprise guest appearance to perform alongside Lopez for their iconic song, "I'm Real" and "Ain't it amusing". They were my inspirations to get into the music business, to do what I did. You know my life is sweeter and better with you in it because you make me realize that every day the sky is not the limit, the universe is infinite and so is what we can accomplish together with love and trust and understanding.

Ultimately, she revealed that what she was holding was an award-though it doesn't appear she's won anything quite yet. Lopez also thanked her father, her "rock" as well as her sisters.

"I was about to sign a deal to do a Hills reunion with E!, and then Heidi and Spencer signed a deal with MTV", she told PEOPLE recently. Look, the Vanguard Award is a big deal, okay?

Also in the audience were Lopez's 10-year-old twins, Max and Emme, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

There was one posthumous victor: Avicii, who died in April, won for best dance for "Lonely Together" alongside Rita Ora.
