Cyberpunk 2077 Story is Fully Playable at CD Projekt RED

What's newsworthy about Cyberpunk 2077 at Gamescom is that the game can be played entirely from the beginning to the end internally at CD Projekt Red's studio.

Highly anticipated: After teasing fans with a odd Twitch stream that spat out a seemingly-random array of symbols, letters, and numbers, Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red kicked off a full, 48-minute demo of the highly-anticipated game to the public. Elements like gunplay (both in terms of visuals and how RPG stats influence it), netrunning, vehicle physics, or the game's UI - everything's pretty much still in the playtest phase and we felt uneasy about publicly committing to any particular design. The demo spends a lot of time setting up the world as V talks to different NPCs, installs body upgrades, and more.

Just in case, have your eyes fixed on the player below while we try and get some updates on what's happening at CD Projekt RED. "Since numerous assets and mechanics in the current version of Cyberpunk 2077 are most likely to be modified, we initially made a decision to show this gameplay only to media".

The gameplay is the same that was shown off to selected members of the Press at E3 and Gamescom, but this is the first visual inkling the public has for the game. And although there are still bugs to work out, Cyberpunk 2077 is apparently now complete enough that it is playable from "start to finish".

There is now no ETA yet on when the game will release, though we expect a 2020 release.

Taking place in the future, Cyberpunk 2077 looks to promise what fans love from the developer of the critically acclaimed Witcher franchise in CD PROJEKT RED in a first person shooter where advanced technology and firepower will be the best tools at your disposal.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now in development and does not yet have a release date.
