Here's your first look at 'Captain Marvel'

Captain Marvel is rumored to be one of, if not the, strongest heroes in the MCU. And she's got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls - the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more risky by their shape-shifting abilities. As per the comics, one of the photos sees Captain Danvers in her plane as part of the US Air Force.

For more on the movie, check out this first official look at the MCU film, how the Skrulls look like, and everything we know so far about Captain Marvel.

After the character was teased at the end of April's Avengers: Infinity War, and with the solo movie due out in March, a first look at Captain Marvel feels like it's been a long time coming.

However, a couple of those EW exclusive promo images do suggest that her pre-powered life will be documented in some form, most likely via flashback.

Marvel fans have been waiting for this moment for some time now!

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos and Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau.

"This is not a superhero who's ideal or otherworldly or has some godlike connection", Boden said.

Guess we'll have to wait and see until a bit closer to Captain Marvel's March 2019 release date to find out. He went on to say that her humanity is "also the thing that makes her great".

Captain Marvel has a March 8, 2019 release directed by the writing/directing team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and stars Academy Award victor Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
