Packers open season against Bears at Lambeau Field

After the game, Rodgers told NBC'S Michelle Tafoya that the injury was to his left knee and asserted that he would play next week when the Packers host the NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings.

Rodgers went down awkwardly after being sacked by Bears defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris.

The Bears secondary played well most of the night but breakdowns in the second half doomed them. The Lambeau Field crowd let out a huge roar as he walked out on the field.

Davante Adams then found a connection with Rodgers, taking a pass and going 51 yards downfield to set up his later touchdown reception from 12 yards out to make it 20-17.

Just 3-of-7 for 13 yards when he was carted to the locker room, Rodgers completed 16 of his next 19 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns.

It was Green Bay's largest fourth-quarter comeback win in franchise history.

He returned for the Packers' first drive of the third quarter, with 9:10 left. In the past seven meetings against the Bears, Rodgers' ratio is 21-1 and the Packers have won six of those games.

Rodgers was carted off the field in the first half of the Packers home opener, and the Bears opened up a 20-0 lead in his absence. "It would have had to take something really catastrophic injury wise to keep me out of the second half".

"I ain't seen nothing like that", said veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis, who signed with the Packers in the offseason. Shoot there was a lot of other plays in that game that could've affected the outcome. The Bears were more than willing to pay the price, but they also got a little back, too.

It all fell apart in the second half, after Rodgers returned from the injury.

The Packers' defence, in new co-ordinator Mike Pettine's first game, held the Bears to two field goals in the second half. He went 23-for-35 for 171 yards. On Trubisky's longest completion of the night, Robinson ran a fade route from the slot, and was closely covered down the right sideline by Green Bay rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander, but was still able to come away with the catch.
