Rodgers misses practice Wednesday, Zimmer expects to see him Sunday

Packers coach Mike McCarthy didn't go that far when he spoke to reporters on Monday and one consideration will certainly be how well Rodgers can protect himself against Minnesota defenders. Although the quarterback didn't participate in practice, Rodgers did take some time to answer questions about his left knee injury, which he characterized as a sprain.

Rodgers suffered a knee injury in the first week of the National Football League season, and fans are concerned that the set-back will see him miss the match against rival team Minnesota. The Packers quarterback said he didn't take any meds on Sunday night and that the only reason he was able to finish the game with the Bears was through sheer adrenaline. He said his knee is still sore, but that it's improving every day.

Just because Rodgers is in the rehab group that doesn't mean it's a setback.

Even if he doesn't practice this week, Rodgers could still play.

A win for Chicago in week one against the Packers, especially after recently acquiring Khalil Mack, would have been a huge confidence boost for the Bears.

"Yeah, well, you know he walks on water, so I'm sure he's going to play", Zimmer said Wednesday in a conference call. "We'll give him the whole week to get ready".

"He's always responded, puts a lot of extra time in", McCarthy said. "We'll see what tomorrow brings". Coach McCarthy has said #12 will be given the entire week to rehab and prepare for the Vikings.
