Speaking in a press conference, Klopp was quick to slam Neville's idea, noting that sitting in an office talking about football is very different to actual management.

Jordan Henderson and Heung-min Son during the Premier League match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on February 4, 2018 in Liverpool, England. That's too complicated; you have to go into the next game and see who you can choose.

"Last year, for example, we had no chance to focus on one competition because we had to qualify for the Champions League and I don't think that even Gary Neville would have said: "Quarter-finals of the Champions League, let City win". "If they (lose) against Liverpool, there will be a lot of question marks asked about why they didn't buy players, why didn't they strengthen?", said the Sky Sports man. Sir Alex Ferguson's 2007/08 side remain the only team in Premier League history to win the a league and Champions League double.

"I don't know what he means with that, to be honest".

"From now on we have one day to train, one day to rest, one day to play".

"He came from another league playing in a completely different system to us and that takes time".

"Then today another one, and we need to be ready". It is a big misunderstanding that we will plan for the game tomorrow and [also] think about the game after and the game after.

The majority of Klopp's players were on duty with their national teams this month, and now head into a heavily congested period of seven games in 23 days. "Mauricio [Pochettino] has the same issues, we all have to work with what we've got".

"The other is for me a more complete player but both are complete players".

The Reds have picked an impressive 43 points from 28 games against Spurs, Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
