The Five Places Melania Trump Will Visit in Nairobi

First Lady Melania Trump headed to a primary school in Lilongwe, Malawi, an area locals call the "warm heart of Africa" as part of the third day of her week-long solo trip to the continent.

Trump visited a primary school in Lilongwe, Malawi on Thursday that has received assistance from the United States, the Washington Post reported.

The two first ladies visited the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, where Mrs Trump donated hampers and teddy bears to the sick children on admission.

Melani then made a stop over in Malawi on Thursday, October 4, where she visited a number of primary schools benefiting from U.S. assistance and handed over another 1.4 million books through an American funded national reading program.

The first lady was greeted by Malawi's first lady, Gertrude Mutharika, when she arrived in the country. "We are happy today, we are happy today, we are happy to see you".

A white woman on the roadside held up a handmade sign as the first lady's motorcade passed that said "Melania Me Too".

In the spirit of the first lady's "Be Best" initiative, during one class visit, a teacher led what appeared to be an exercise in self-confidence, asking students to stand up and say their name along with, "You are the best!"

The first lady later left Malawi for Kenya. "I was heartened to spend time with the students".

"Thank you for having me here and thank you for a lovely warm welcome", Trump told her hosts, adding that she wanted to be in Malawi to see the success of American programs here.

After the talks, Melania is scheduled to watch a performance by Sarakasi dancers at the Kenya National Theater.
