The CW Gives First Look at Ruby Rose's Batwoman :: TV :: News :: Batwoman

Rose will likely have her own spinoff show as the Gotham City heroine, according to EW, as the network is now developing a Batwoman series.

The annual Arrowverse crossover is on the horizon, and now we have the first look at one of its biggest players: Batwoman. The color scheme of her suit and cape also blends perfectly with her bright red hair, being the ideal live action adaptation of Batwoman that many DC fans have been asking for for years.

Unlike Black Lightning, which has so far largely stood on its own in the CW's superhero slate, Batwoman will associate itself with the other heroes of the Arrowverse right from the jump. The Colleen Atwood-designed Batwoman super-suit is very accurate to the comic books, thanks to the intricately detailed Bat-symbol and the two-toned cape.

"Elseworlds" premieres on The CW on Sunday, Dec. 9.

In the photo, the Australian actress trades in her signature short 'do for the character's fire-red tresses, which flow out of her cowl, just like in the comics. "The 'Elseworlds" crossover will see The Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl heading towards Gotham City and teaming up with Batwoman after some mad science at the Arkham Asylum grab the attention of the heroes from throughout the multiverse.

Rose took the role of Batwoman primarily to help shed more light on an unrepresented community. Let us know down in the comments. Fans of Batwoman will be happy to see her vibrant red wig and lipstick, too.

Earlier this year when it was announced that Rose would be playing the caped crusader on the small screen, the online backlash was so severe it caused Rose to quit Twitter.
