Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey could still stay at the club - Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has told Aaron Ramsey he's in a "strong position" at Arsenal despite the club withdrawing a contract offer to the midfielder.

Arsenal could attempt to cash in on the 27-year-old midfielder in the January transfer window, with top Premier League, La Liga and Serie A clubs reportedly monitoring the situation.

The Red Devils are said to be long term admirers of Aaron Ramsey, but they have failed twice in their efforts to sign the former Cardiff City superstar. He had sought a large pay rise and the suspicion has been that the club do not want to push the boat out for him because they have other options in central midfield.

Ramsey this week stressed he will not leave the Gunners in January but talks over an extension have collapsed ahead of his current contract expiring at the end of the 2018-19 season. He further said, "So I just have to carry on playing my football and do my best for Arsenal this season. I just have to get on with it and carry on playing the best I can".

"There are some top teams with incredible players and top managers throughout the league, clubs that are improving because they're investing well and buying well in the transfer window".

The Welshman is on worldwide duty and he said, "Will I stay for the rest of the season? You need everyone as fresh as can be, really, to share the load, so in that sense I feel it is certainly the strongest squad I've been part of", added Henderson.
