Saudi officials denied the allegations, saying the well-known opposition journalist left the building through another exit.

Daily Sabah, a Turkish newspaper with close ties to the government, named and published photos on Tuesday of the alleged 15-member Saudi assassination team accused of travelling to Istanbul on the day Khashoggi disappeared.

Trump threatened Riyadh on Saturday with "severe punishment" if Khashoggi, a contributor for the Washington Post who has been critical of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, was killed inside its Istanbul consulate. "The people who took him from us, irrespective of their political positions, must be held accountable and punished to the full extent of the law", she said. "We demand to know the truth".


Vice President Mike Pence signals the US may help investigate the disappearance of the Washington Post contributor and prominent Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., endorsed a break in the U.S. -Saudi relationship in a tweet last week.

"We have not yet seen cooperation on this subject and we want to see it", Cavusoglu said during the trip to London in comments broadcast on Turkish television. We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as available.' Sarah Sanders, ' she said.

Turkish claims that a well-known Saudi writer and government critic was slain inside his country's diplomatic mission in Turkey have put the Trump administration in a delicate spot.

Earlier Wednesday, a bipartisan group of more than 20 senators instructed Trump to order an investigation into Khashoggi's disappearance under legislation that authorizes the imposition of sanctions for perpetrators of extrajudicial killings, torture or other gross human rights violations.
