Black Ops 4 Suggest World Is Ready For Digital-Only Consoles

"Black Ops is back!" That puts the latest release about $50 million behind its most recent predecessor at this point in its life. "It is perhaps unusual, perhaps even guilt-inducing, to take such pleasure from a game that wears its gung-ho military fetishism as a badge of honour, but as it stands this is the most enjoyable Call of Duty game for several years". Read up on more details here. Oh, and keep an eye out for our final review soon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has ditched many series traditions, and it's paying off - PC player counts are way up, and the title raked in over half-a-billion dollars in its opening weekend.

Even if players manage to find some of the best guns in Black Ops 4's Blackout mode, they will still need to bring plenty of skill to the table as well.

A patch released for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has increased the player count for Blackout's Duos mode to 100, while also dropping the player count for Quads mode to 88. Finally, it had the highest level of viewership on Twitch during the weekend, based on minutes watched. Furthermore, sales of the physical copies have struck an 11-year low for Activision and this sends a strong message where gamers are ready for a full-digital experience on consoles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is startlingly different to its predecessors, benefitting from the years of honing and tweaking which shaped them while feeling fresh and exciting. Getting the edge over the competition is every gamer's goal, luckily Shacknews is here with a collection of strategies, guides, walkthroughs, tutorials and more to help players claim victory. For comparison sake, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 hit $650M in sales within in five days of release. Through its first three days, PC digital sales and active players are up significantly from previous year. Sell-through figures include Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII retail and digital unit sales, as well as Season Pass sales.
