Brandon Ingram, Rajon Rondo & Chris Paul banned after punch-up

Ingram was suspended four games, Rondo will sit out three games and Paul two games. The Houston Rockets were up by a point on the Los Angeles Lakers when Brandon Ingram pushed James Harden in the back.

All three of Ingram, Paul, and Rondo were ejected, and multi-game suspensions are likely pending an investigation.

This resulted in SpitGate, where a decade's worth of animosity boiled over as Rajon Rondo allegedly spit on Chris Paul, prompting Paul to put his finger in Rondo's face. The Lakers have argued that no spitting took place, but the Rockets have been standing by Paul's account.

Ingram and Rondo will begin their suspensions tonight when the Lakers face the San Antonio Spurs. I'm surprised that this is their first fight actually, because they have never got along'. Ultimately, they also handed him an early exit for his troubles. Following the coming together of Paul and Rondo, Ingram ran from half-court and threw a punch in the direction of Paul and P.J. Tucker, but it didn't land flush.

The NBA will take the history between Paul and Rondo, which has erupted in 2009, 2012 and last March, into account as it sorts all this out, but one thing is certain.

Asked if he had ever seen Paul so angry, D'Antoni said: "I've never really seen him spit on before". Through two games, Ingram had averaged 14.0 points while making more than half of his shots, while Rondo's 13.0 points and 10.5 assists made for an excellent beginning to his L.A. tenure. That's blatant disrespect. You don't do that.

The game was the home debut of three-time National Basketball Association champion James and ended with a 124-115 defeat for the Lakers.

VanDeWeghe clearly indicated that Rondo did not acknowledge spitting on Paul. "So in this particular instance, the multiple-game suspensions are pretty severe both to their teams and financially to the players". "I think we owe it to ourselves to start from the beginning with this guy and see what we can accomplish".
