Dodgers Defeat Brewers, Advance To World Series To Face Red Sox

It sets up a clash of storied franchises in the World Series, with the Dodgers and Red Sox scheduled for Game 1 on Tuesday at Fenway Park.

But in Game 6 the Brewer bats got hot as they scored seven runs, including four in the first inning that all but crushed any hopes the Dodgers had of winning last night.

Yasiel Puig delivered arguably the biggest blow of Game 7 with a monster 3-run home run against the Milwaukee Brewers, and he knew exactly how to celebrate.

The Dodgers overwhelmed the young Atlanta Braves in the NL Division Series, then outlasted a Brewers team that used creative and at times unprecedented methods to make up for deficiencies in its rotation.

In the fifth, with the Brewers threatening to tie the game with two outs and Lorenzo Cain on second base, Christian Yelich lined a shot into left-center.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are now four wins away from being two World Series titles away from tying the Giants' mark this decade.

The mighty Dodgers, who hit an NL-best 235 homers, out-slugged the Brewers, who were second in the league with 218. Through six games, batting.210 with three home runs, Milwaukee is.235 with five dingers. "But I do see him being a part of this equation". Julio Urias came into the game and pitched in back to back games for the first time in his career.

Key team stats: The Dodgers were first in the NL and second in Major League Baseball with 235 home runs, trailing only the Yankees.

Champagne showers here in Milwaukee, but not in the Brewers locker room. Credit to them. They played great and they won.

Chacin (1-1) allowed two runs on three hits in two innings, walking one.

The numbers weren't totally gaudy, but the 23-year-old outfielder got the job done when it mattered most.

Brewers right-hander Jhoulys Chacin worked out of further trouble to end the inning, which proved to be his final action of the game.

Erik Kratz contributed to the Brewers' victory like he has all of October.

The Dodgers almost padded their lead in the ninth, loading the bases on a Puig single, a Taylor double and an intentional walk to Matt Kemp before Brandon Woodruff struck out Enrique Hernandez and Muncy to end the threat. The All-Star left-hander fanned 16 of the 35 batters he faced in 10 shutout innings over seven playoff appearances.

"This series could have went either way", Roberts said. "We didn't execute today".
