Georgia Sec. of State's office: Failed alleged hack of voter system

Winfrey, who has been urged to run for office for months now, told the crowd: "I'm not trying to test any waters, don't want to go in those waters".

"I am canvassing for Stacey Abrams", Winfrey said.

It is also a fact that Brian Kemp is the last person who can be trusted on cyber security given his record of leaking the personal information and social security numbers of six million Georgians.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development said there were 320 films and TV shows shot in the state past year, generating an economic impact of $9.5 billion, including $2.7 billion in direct spending. Vice President Mike Pence stumped for Kemp on Thursday, and criticized the star power Abrams' campaign has attracted.

Friday's ruling required Kemp to allow 3,000 of those people, whose voting registration was placed in "pending" status due to questions about their US citizenship, to vote in the November 6 USA midterm election if they present proof of citizenship at the polls.

She is the first black female nominee for governor from a major party.

Democrat Stacey Abrams is now running for governor of Georgia, and if elected, she would be the first African-American woman governor ever.

The Abrams camp likewise blasted the move but took a shot at Kemp and his highest profile supporter, President Donald Trump, who is coming to Georgia to campaign Sunday.

On Sunday morning, Abrams appeared on the political talkshows.

"This ain't Hollywood!" said Pence Thursday at a rally in Savannah.

Democratic gubernatorial Stacey Abrams' campaign just got an unexpected volunteer: Oprah Winfrey.

Abrams and Kemp are both condemning an automated telephone call filled with racist and anti-Semitic statements. He's banking on running up wide margins outside metro Atlanta and holding most of the GOP votes closer to the city.

Abrams is looking to maximize turnout among nonwhites, liberal urban whites and just enough whites everywhere else, including a smattering of moderates and suburban Republicans who are disenchanted with Trump - a considerable overlap with the fan base that propelled Winfrey to her billionaire icon status.

"For anybody here who has an ancestor who didn't have the right to vote, and you are choosing not to vote - wherever you are in this state, in this country - you are dishonoring your family", Winfrey said in Marietta, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb.
