Autopsy finds rapper Mac Miller died from drugs and alcohol

The Coroner categorized his death as an accidental overdose.

He was found in his bedroom in the San Fernando Valley around 12 PM. Alcohol and drug paraphernalia were found; however, TMZ reported the house was mostly "swept clean" before investigators arrived. The coroner listed his death as an accidental overdose. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. TMZ reports that the assistant described him during the 911 call as being "blue".

An empty bottle of alcohol was found on the nightstand, near Mac's body. and a bottle of prescription pills was found in the bathroom. A rolled $20 bill with "powdery residue" was found in the artist's right pocket.

He tragically died on 7 September, just weeks before he was due to go on tour, with his family later sharing a statement confirming the news. The majority-or least 68 percent-of those deaths could be attributed to opioids such as fentanyl. A "Celebration of Life" concert with performances from Chance the Rapper, John Mayer, SZA, Travis Scott, Miguel and Anderson.Paak was held last month in Los Angeles and live-streamed on Miller's official Facebook page.

Mac struggled with substance abuse over the past few years and that is what reportedly led to Ariana Grande ending her relationship with the rapper earlier this year.

Fentanyl was originally developed as a painkiller and anesthetic, but it's 50 to 100 times more potent than heroin.
