Texas newlyweds die in helicopter crash while leaving their wedding

A couple were killed in a helicopter crash just hours after they were married in the USA state of Texas, family members have said.

The National Transportation Safety Board was scheduled to release more details Monday.

According to the couple's wedding website, nuptials were Saturday at the ranch in Uvalde, which is about 85 miles west of San Antonio. They responded with several other agencies and were able to locate the helicopter around daybreak, according to the post.

Mr Byler's grandfather, William Byler, told Houston TV station KTRK that both had died as a result of the accident, with friends and family having cheered them on as they took off from the ranch.

Condolences amassed instead of congratulations on gleeful photos and videos of the ceremony and reception posted on social media.

A wedding guest captured the happy couple - Ackerman in a white gown and veil and Byler in a tuxedo and cowboy hat - heading toward the doomed chopper through a row of lighted sparklers, ABC13 reported.

A November 3 wedding date was listed on a website for the Ackerman and Byler nuptials.

Will and Bailee Ackerman Byler were killed as they left their wedding in Texas.

The pilot, who Smith identified as a man named Jerry, was also killed. "Will was so adventurous and lived life to the [fullest] every single day and Bailee always went with the flow".

The DPS and the Federal Aviation Administration were investigating. "One day we will all see their smiles and dimples again".
