Playing alongside Jimmy Butler will take some adjusting to for Ben Simmons, with the Aussie needing the ball in his hands to be effective.

The Philadelphia 76ers made an aggressive move in dealing for All-Star guard Jimmy Butler over the weekend, and general manager Elton Brand was well aware of the risks. But that's part of how this business works sometimes. Philadelphia will now hope Butler meshes better with them than he did in Minnesota with Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns. "I still talk to those guys". He continued onto claim that he isn't about drama and that he's a genuinely good guy. "It was important to us to go get a superstar, to go get some young talent to help make that next step in achieving a championship". From the beginning, he said he told Butler the Wolves wouldn't do "a bad deal".

Butler and Justin Patton were traded to Philadelphia for Robert Covington, Dario Saric and Jerryd Bayless, along with a 2022 second-round draft pick. Neither Covington nor Saric are as aggressive driving to the basket as Butler and Minnesota's offense will likely suffer as a result. "But you have to be part of what's going on in the conversation in the National Basketball Association, and there's a lot of hypotheticals from that standpoint". You never hear a player say it and I think if a player had a problem with anything that they would (say something). "In this league, I think 90 percent of it is mental. I'll leave it at that".

Brand said he still thinks Philadelphia is the best place for Fultz to develop, and that the trade for Butler wasn't about losing faith in Fultz, but simply pouncing on an opportunity to gain ground in an improving Eastern Conference. That's more than enough time to get your act together as a team.

"In the locker room, they love him". On the court, he's demanding, he wants to win and I can deal with that, our organization can deal with that, our players can deal with that because they want to win. He expressed confidence that none of his past teammates had issues with him. All I want to do is compete and help my team win. "It was an easy call for me".
