Night Sight may be fantastic when it comes to taking low-light pictures but it is not magic, so you'll still have to abide by the normal rules when taking pictures in dark environments. It uses this information to process how to capture the photo, adjusting exposure and burst photography on the fly.

Now that the panic is over, what exactly does Night Sight do?

One of the Google Pixel 3's best features is finally coming to the Pixel 2.

Next, I moved on to a face-off between the Pixel 3 and the Galaxy Note 9; a battle of computer smarts versus a wider f/1.5 lens aided by a touch of AI tuning.

"Night Sight" is created to use machine learning to adapt to night-lighting conditions and balance the colour of the photos so that objects show their natural colour at night - whether the device is kept still or it experiences the natural hand shaking.

Google's latest Pixel 3 range didn't have the smoothest launch, as complaints began to roll in about memory crashes, overheating devices and an bad second notch invading the screen.

Google says Night Sight constantly adapts to you and the environment, such as measuring your natural hand shake, as well as how much motion is in the scene. But the bigger shock is that for a camera with a supposed 3x zoom, the Mate 20 Pro's Night Mode pic was a blurry mess compared to the Pixel 3's image. For one, subjects must remain as still as possible when you're taking the shot.

Finally, in what may have been the most hard challenge, I took a shot using the Pixel 3 and an iPhone XS of a pizza lit nearly exclusively by a single candle. The Pixel 3 has also faced many issues in the recent past, including multiple reports of the phone overheating, and then shutting down. As the name implies, Night Sight is intended for use at night. Google also does extensive tone-mapping, which makes the images pop a bit more and gives it that Pixel look. Although the deals sound good, you might want to wait a little bit longer as the Black Friday deals could be even more enticing.

Google has released the November security updates for its Pixel range last week, with a change to how Night Mode and Battery Saver interact. In the meantime, check out some Night Sight photos below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
