Korver Traded to the Utah Jazz

Korver Traded to the Utah Jazz

Though the team is excited about the return of Kyle Korver (who played in Utah from 2007-2010), they're sad to see Burks go.

The first opportunity that Korver will get to play for the Jazz will be Friday night, when they continue an Eastern road trip with a game at Charlotte.

The 37-year-old shooting guard recently got one of the best games he's had as he scored 22 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves, although the Cavs still lost that match.

Information from ESPN's Bobby Marks was used in this report. Burks has averaged 8.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 17 games this season.

Burks is on a $11.53 million expiring contract, which could have value before the trade deadline.

While with Cleveland Korver sank 49 percent of his three-pointers in 2017.

Just one month into the season, it's been clear that the Cavs are not a playoff team or even fighting for a spot in the postseason.

The eighth-year pro has career averages of 9.6 points in 20.8 minutes per game across 382 contests (43 starts), all for Utah, which drafted him 12th overall in 2011. A person familiar with the deal said Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, the Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to trade veteran forward Korver to the Utah Jazz. The Jazz now rank 23rd in three-pointers per game, 29th in three-point percentage, 27th in offensive rating and 24th in net rating. Entering the Brooklyn game, Utah ranked No. 29 throughout the 30-team league in 3-point shooting percentage (31.9).

The 27-year-old Burks has battled injuries over the past few years.
