Cohen, who is co-operating with a federal probe into whether Trump's campaign worked with Russian Federation to sway the election, is scheduled to be sentenced on December 12 after pleading guilty to tax evasion, making false statements to a bank, campaign finance violations, and lying to Congress.

A conservative author in the crosshairs of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation has filed a complaint with the Justice Department, alleging prosecutors tried to coerce him to give false testimony. He further accused Cohen of fabricating "stories to get a GREAT & ALREADY reduced deal for himself".

A reporter who has been breaking stories on the Russian Federation investigation since it began two years ago points out that there were at least six different FBI or intelligence-related operatives with similar characteristics and modes of operation who made entrees to key figures in the Trump business organization or his presidential campaign between March and October 2016. Cohen's statements marked the first time the president was implicated in a federal crime since Mueller's probe began.

But Michael Cohen, who Trump hired and worked closely with for many years, is a "weak person" who has done "TERRIBLE, unrelated to Trump, things".

"He lied for this outcome and should, in my opinion, serve a full and complete sentence", the president wrote.

Prosecutors working on behalf of special counsel Robert Mueller offered Corsi a plea deal that would require him to admit to making false statements about his communications with Stone, but Corsi says he rejected the deal because he does not believe he knowingly misled prosecutors.

"George is right. This is genuinely looking like witness tampering".

Cohen told a federal judge that negotiations for a Trump Tower real estate project in Moscow were still going on as late as June 2016, just one month before Trump earned the Republican Party's nomination. He fired off a third tweet praising former confidant Roger Stone for stating over the weekend he would not testify as part of any probe against Trump.

"File under '18 U.S.C. §§ 1503, 1512", George Conway tweeted, a reference to the section of the United States criminal code that covers witness tampering and obstruction of justice.

"Bob Mueller (who is a much different man than people think) and his out of control band of Angry Democrats, don't want the truth, they only want lies", Trump wrote. "The truth is very bad for their mission!" he also tweeted.
