Samsung Galaxy A8s with 'Infinity-O' display launched in China: Key specifications

On the market, there is, in fact, also an unprecedented Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite that, according to the first rumors, could present itself as a "medium-high" range with many differences compared to the more complete Galaxy S10 and 10 Plus. Samsung calls it the Infinity-O Display and with the new hole-in-the-screen design, it tries to change things up by letting go of the notch trend. Compared to the Honor View20, the Samsung Galaxy A8s comes with a slightly bigger punch hole on the front. The punch hole on the View20 is 4.5mm in dimensions.

"The Galaxy A8s gets a 6.4" all-screen display that pushes a Full HD+ resolution. There's also an 8GB version of the phone.

Sadly, the handset does not sport an in-screen fingerprint scanner so there is one mounted at the back, along with dual-SIM card. Oddly, these renders appear to have a centre mounted selfie camera and there are two on the Galaxy S10+. On the software side, it runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with Samsung's homebred UI skin loaded on top. Called the Infinity-O by Samsung, the design was unveiled earlier this year at the company's annual developer summit. Instead, we have a device with a significant bezel at the top and a camera notch in the top right corner.

The rear camera array will boast three snappers with a combination of normal, wide-angle and zoom that should deliver brilliant pics in most conditions. Coming to the cameras, the Galaxy A8s uses the same set of cameras as on the Galaxy A9 sans the ultra-wide angle lens. While the third sensor of the rear panel can be used for capturing depth shots, or background blur pictures. This hole is in the ideal place for a headphone jack, delivering said jack in essentially the same place as the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. All the Galaxy S10 smartphones will probably arrive in two SoC variants, in the U.S. and China, they will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855, while the Exynos 9820 will fuel them in Europe and India.

As far as the specifications of A8 are concerned, the smartphone will be powered by 710 SoC and will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Although Samsung is yet to reveal the price of the Galaxy A8s, Samsung has announced that the smartphone will be available for pre-orders in China very soon.
