Wizards’ John Wall will see specialist for heel injury

Wizards guard John Wall will undergo a debridement and fix of a Haglund's deformity and a chronic Achilles tendon injury in his left heel. Per the Wizards, the procedure was determined to be the best course of action to relieve pain and inflammation in Walls heel after consultations with more than one doctor. He played in only 41 games last season because of a knee injury and has been plagued by the heel injury for several seasons, according to Chase Hughes of NBC Sports.

Wall went to Wisconsin to see Green Bay Packers associate team physician Dr. Robert Anderson on Saturday.

Practically, the current season is over and a lost cause.

The five-time all-star, who is missing Saturday night's game against Charlotte, already missed Friday's game against Chicago due to a left heel issue.

From a team perspective, the Wizards have to hope (and pray) that the then 29-year old can stay healthy and return to his 2016-17 form.

Wall's injury also highlights a serious lack of depth in the point guard position for the team.

Wall will earn a base salary of $19.2 million this season. As is the case every year, the team has been inconsistent in their play.
