Alien Isolation Sequel Announced For Phones

Alien Isolation Sequel Announced For Phones

Alien: Blackout is a survival horror mobile game that has you explore a Weyland-Yutani space station while avoiding xenomorphs.

Although it's possible the new game could ignore this entirely you would've thought using the same character means it is going to be a continuation of some sort.

When we first wrote this article a few years ago, the horror games genre wasn't great. It carries on from 2014's Alien: Isolation, and like its predecessor, the new game sees Amanda stuck aboard a Weyland-Yutani space station with a horrifying Xenomorph.

20th Century Fox is also said to be partnering with a "wide range of storytellers and innovators for more entries of Amanda Ripley's story that will be announced later this month". Isolation, you'll need to "outsmart the flawless hunter by making perilous choices", shepherding the surviving crew to safety.

It also seems somewhat apparent, based on the gameplay description, that Alien: Blackout will be liberally borrowing from the successful gameplay formula of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.

Alien: Blackout has now been fully revealed to be a Teen-rated mobile game after several teasers led up to the announcement. Which sadly isn't a sequel to the sublime Alien: Isolation.

No release date has been provided yet for the game, but the site confirms that it'll be "coming soon" to the App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore marketplaces.

In Alien: Blackout, you play as Ripley as she tries to keep her crew members safe while guiding them through the space station from the security monitoring room using cameras and other defense mechanisms, but power is limited and the Xenomorph is always lurking. Yep, this won't be making its way to the PC or console.

SURVIVE OR DIE Using only the space station's limited power supply to operate a holographic map, surveillance cameras, and motion tracker, attempt to remain hidden and protect your crew from the flawless hunter in seven fear-inducing levels.
