Tottenham Hotspur could face a striker crisis after leading scorer Harry Kane was injured during stoppage time in their damaging 1-0 defeat at home by Manchester United on Sunday.

The Spaniard made an extraordinary 11 saves in a simply stunning second half display, and won plaudits from his teammates, fans and pundits alike.

The Red Devils showed moments of quality in the second half but Spurs tested out the full extent of their defence and David responded in fantastic fashion.

The 28-year-old had to be at his best to keep out Toby Alderweireld's glancing header with his feet to help Manchester United extend their winning run to six games.

"He is the best goalkeeper in the world, I have said it many times".

"I am so pleased and I'm proud", Pochettino told Sky Sports.

Up against Mauricio Pochettino, the favourite to replace Jose Mourinho on a full-time basis at Old Trafford, Solskjaer's team played vibrant football and just about did enough in a match of many chances, with De Gea's display just as important as Marcus Rashford's third goal in as many games.

"We dominated in the first half but we didn't organised ourselves well when we lost Moussa Sissoko and that is how we conceded the goal". Everything comes when you are more free, have the trust of the manager and the players, it makes it easy for me.

Since Mourinho's departure, Pogba's form has spectacularly improved, scoring four goals and setting up as many - including the victor in Sunday's win at Tottenham - in five league games under Solskjaer, and the France worldwide puts it down to being given freedom.

Mauricio Pochettino admits Harry Kane's ankle injury could be a "massive problem" for Tottenham. I don't remember who [was involved], but it was a big hit, a foul. It was really hard with the system and tactics we used to play, I want to be more attacking, pressing, playing high.
